Грузия не собирается менять текст песни и не будет принимать участие в в песенном конкурсе «Евровидение-2009». Об этом сообщила руководитель грузинского проекта конкурса Натиа Узнадзе….
Такое решение было спровоцировано конфликтом, который возник после того, как в качестве исполнителя, который представит страну на «Евровидении-2009», была выбрана группа «Стефане и 3G». Участники «Стефане и 3G» сообщили прямо, что их песня «We don’t wonna put in» является протестом против политики России.
По пункту 4.9 (согласно которому участники «Евровидения» не должны использовать политические или иные призывы) данная композиция не попадает на песенный конкурс.
У Грузии был шанс сохранить свое членство в конкурсе. Можно было изменить текст песни, выбрать другую песню или даже другого исполнителя до 16 марта. Но решение страны неизменно - оставить все в в первоначальном варианте. «Коллектив отказывается вносить изменения в текст песни», - сказала Узнадзе.
Официальный отказ Грузии от участия в конкурсе содержится в письме генерального директора «Общественного вещателя» Грузии Левана Кубанеишвили в адрес исполнительного директора песенного конкурса Свантесу Стокселиусу.
«Общественный вещатель Грузии не намерен менять текст песни, и отказывается от участия в песенном конкурсе “Евровидения”. Общественный вещатель Грузии не согласен с Вашим решением, так как считает его безосновательным», - так сказано в письме. Руководство канала вновь заявило, что песня не содержит политического контекста.
В любом случае, “не самая яркая” композиция, осужденная половиной Европы, дала бы слишком маленький шанс Грузии на победу:
