Около миллиона представители арабской общины Израиля обвиняют Миру Авад в том, что она отказывается от своих палестинских корней. Граждане не довольны тем, что Мира намерена представлять Израиль на конкурсе “Евровидение”, выйдя на сцену вместе с певицей-еврейкой…
Целью создания такого дуэта было призвать народы к миру (вначале была выбрана представителем Израиля только Ноа, которая настояла чтобы в выступлении принимала участие и ее давняя подруга Мира Авад.). Однако напряженность на Ближнем Востоке сделала предстоящее выступление объектом яростной критики.
Арабы, которые проживают в Израиле, потребовали от певицы отказаться от участия в конкурсе, так как, по их мнению, он станет пропагандой “расистского” государства. Симпатии многих евреев, в свою очередь, все больше склоняются в пользу правых партий, склонных считать граждан арабской национальности потенциальными изменниками.
Несмотря на критику, Ноа и Мира Авад готовятся к выступлению. Название песни, которую они исполнят , переводится как “Должен быть другой путь”. Текст песни написан на арабском и иврите.
Мира хочет использовать свою популярность, чтобы убедить еврейское большинство посмотреть на сограждан-арабов другими глазами.
“Я полагаю, что своим выступлением за Израиль я как арабка во весь голос заявлю о себе, о своем существовании, - говорит Мира. - Я буду костью в горле у экстремистов, которые хотели бы вынудить нас всех уехать, - говорит она. - Я представляю их страну - и им от меня не избавиться!”.

эти две страны никогда друг другу не уступят, хоть огромное количество лет живут бок о бок. что могут сделать две женщины, чтобы хоть как-то изменить политеческое настроение в стране? ничего? хотя, как на это посмотреть. может это будет первым шагом на пути к взаимному уважению и будущим компромиссам.
