Список финалистов российского отбора сократился с пятнадцати до четырнадцати участников. От участия в финале национального отбора 7 марта отказался Алексей Воробьев. Его продюсер обратилась к Первому каналу с просьбой вычеркнуть имя артиста из списков финала. По ее словам… Воробьева пригласили сниматься в Голливуд, поэтому он не сможет принять участия в финале отбора. В Америке Воробьев получил одну из главных ролей в очень дорогом блокбастере.
«Будучи в Америке, я попросила своего хорошего знакомого Джона Траволту представить Лешу какому-нибудь хорошему агенту, - рассказывает продюсер. – И дала фрагменты тех фильмов, где Воробьев сейчас снимается. Честно говоря, ожидала отрицательного ответа, но получила восторженные отзывы. Его попросили подучить английский, чтобы говорить без акцента, и пообещали приличные роли. Примерно полтора месяц назад нам прислали текст роли, и попросили снять на видео пробу. Это довольно большая роль в серьезном фильме, с огромным бюджетом и очень известными актерами в главных ролях. И только сегодня мы получили сообщение о том, что не позднее 4 марта Воробьев должен быть в Америке. То есть фактически никак не сможет быть 7 марта в Москве. Поэтому я обратилась к Первому Каналу с просьбой снять его кандидатуру». Алексей Воробьев уже принимал участие в российском национальном отборе. Однако тогда его песня понравилась очень узкой аудитории. В этом году песню Алексею Воробьеву написал известный композитор Александр Лунев, автор хита Дима Билана «Never let you go». И по данным многих экспертов и журналистов артист в этом году имел очень хорошие шансы на победу.
