10 мая в стенах EUROДОМа состоится Церемония открытия конкурса. В начале Церемонии организаторы «Евровидения-2009» объявят об открытии конкурса в Москве. На сцену выйдут победители и легендарные участники «Евровидения» разных лет… Среди них - группа «Чингиз-хан» (Германия), Руслана (Украина), выигравшая «Евровидение» в 2004-м, Мария Шерифович (Сербия), принимавшая конкурс в прошлом году в Белграде, и победитель «Евровидения-2008» Дима Билан.
Откроет музыкальный парад победителей и лауреатов конкурса настоящая легенда «Евровидения» - самая первая победительница конкурса Лис Ассиа из Швейцарии. Она выступит с той самой песней, которая стала песней-победителем в 1956 году. Кроме того, будут представлены уникальные кадры хроники «Евровидения» 1956 года.
Церемония открытия будет транслироваться на Первом канале в 22.00 по московскому времени.

Смотрели открытие фестиваля и ожидали большего, всем нам это 15 чел. не понравилось начало само открытие фестиваля это должно было быть эфектно ярко, не удачный выбор ведущего Малахова как будто ведет передачу (Все говорят), Алсу вообще еле что-то говорит. Куда смотрят организаторы фестиваля жаль что Россия не смогла ошоломить ярким открытием фестиваля! Это во всем виноваты организаторы не досмотрели!
