На полуфинал конкурса “Евровидение 2009″ в Москву от Эстонии поедет Urban Symphony с песней “Randajad”(”Путешественники”), которая опередила на внутреннем конкурсе Eesti Laul 2009, набрав 82% голосов. Автор песни-победителя Rändajad - Свен Лыхмус…
Группа Urban Symphony состоит из шести человек: Сандра Нурмсалу и Манн Хельштейн (скрипка), Йоханна Мангел и Мари Молдре (виолончель),Мириам Месак и Марилин Конго (бэк-вокал).
Группа образовалась случайным образом. Сандра решила записать струнную кавер-версию песни Nothing Else Matters группы Metallica, и пригласила для этого в помощницы Манн и Йоханну. После первой работы девушки продолжили сотрудничество и записали новую версию еще одной песни. Результат совместной работы очень понравился артисткам, и они решили образовать группу.
В прошлом году Эстонию представлял коллектив Kreisiraadio, который не смог пройти дальше полуфинала. В этом году Эстония выступит во втором полуфинале “Евровидения”, который состоится 14 мая, вместе с участниками из Словении, Дании, Азербайджана, Нидерландов, Латвии, Украины, Сербии, Норвегии, Греции, Литвы, Польши, Хорватии, Венгрии, Молдавии, Кипра, Ирландии, Словакии и Албании.
